FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – The No. 6 and No. 17 Nova Southeastern women and men's swim teams split a dual match at host Florida Southern this Saturday afternoon. The women picked up their third-straight victory while the men fell for the first time this season against a Sunshine State Conference opponent.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- NSU grabbed its first win of the day in the 200 yard medley relay as Courtney DeVeny, Malin Westman, Jenna Johns and Sydney Panzarino finished in 1:46.51.
- NSU gathered 18 first-place finishes, 11 coming from the women's side.
- Both of Nova Southeastern's 200 yard freestyle relay teams picked up victories to close out the meet, with the women finishing in 1:37.27 and the men in 1:24.63.
TOP PERFORMERS:
- Almost as a tradition, Madison Yelle grabbed the first individual victory for NSU in the 1,000 yard freestyle with a time of 10:33.47.
- Bernardo Abascal also notched a win in the 1,000 free on the men's side, finishing in 9:34.19.
- In the 200 yard freestyle, Emma Sundstedt and Franco Lupoli earned victories for the Sharks, finishing in 1:55.09 and 1:40.54, respectively. The pair also went on to sweep the 500 freestyle, with times of 5:07.95 and 4:39.34, respectively.
- Westman grabbed her second win of the day in the 100 breaststroke in 1:06.92, earning her third and final win in the 200 breaststroke in 2:21.66.
- Caroline Oster finished on top in the 200 butterfly in 2:06.90, while Matteo Masiero earned the win for the Sharks on the men's side in 1:51.81.
- Sydney Panzarino collected the ninth win for NSU in the 50 freestyle, finishing in 24.17.
- Jordan Shows picked up a win in the 100 free in 53.07 and Magnus Poulsen secured the event sweep with a time of 46.32. Poulsen also earned a win in the 100 butterfly eight events later with a top-time of 49.79.
- Johns grabbed her second win of the day in the 100 butterfly in 58.21.
UP NEXT:
The men's swimming team will take a weekend rest before the two teams host their final home meet against Keiser University on Jan. 27. The women will compete on the road at FIU on Saturday, Jan. 20 at 12:00 p.m.
